About the Society
Members of Ceredigion Historical Society on the Centenary excursion to Strata Florida, 2009.
The aim of the Ceredigion Historical Society is to promote the study and preservation of the archaeology, antiquities and history of the County of Ceredigion.
The society publishes an annual journal ‘Ceredigion’ and holds an annual programme of lectures and excursions to historical sites.
It has also published a three-volumeCardiganshire County History.

The Cardiganshire Antiquarian Society
From 1909-1938 the Society published the Transactions of the Cardiganshire Antiquarian Society and Archaeological Record. All volumes are available on the Welsh Journals web site

The Society suspended operations in 1940 but resumed its activities in 1947.
The Ceredigion Antiquarian Society
From 1950-2001 the Society published Ceredigion: Journal of the Ceredigion Antiquarian Society. All 21 volumes all available on the Welsh Journals Web site.

The Ceredigion Historical Society
In 2002 the Society changed its name from the Ceredigion Antiquarian Society to the Ceredigion Historical Society.
The Society now publishes Ceredigion: Journal of the Ceredigion Historical Society. Those for 2002, 2003 and 2004 are available on the Welsh Journals Web site.
Journals for 2005 – present are available in major libraries and most may be purchased from the society Publications officer.
Subsequent journals are free to members of the Society as they are published.

Offers of Papers
Offers of papers to be read at meetings of the Society should be addressed to the Honorary Secretary. Material for publication and books for review should be sent to the Honorary Editor.
